Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and Interim Treasurer

Jim Woys is executive vice president, chief financial and operating officer, and interim treasurer of Health Net, Inc. He was appointed to this new position in September 2014. In addition to his duties as chief operating officer, Mr. Woys now oversees all financial activities of the company, including financial reporting, accounting, finance, risk management, treasury, investments, business and financial planning, and investor relations. Mr. Woys is a member of Health Net’s Executive Committee.

Prior to assuming financial and treasury responsibilities, Mr. Woys served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Health Net, Inc. since November 2007, and he was accountable for a broad range of operations, including claims processing, membership and billing, call centers, information technology, the company’s Internet activities, health care cost data analytics, and pharmacy management. He had responsibility for three business units: Health Net Federal Services, the government operations division; Managed Health Network, Inc., Health Net’s behavioral health subsidiary; and Health Net Pharmaceutical Services, the company’s internal pharmacy benefit manager. In his new role, effective September 2014, Mr. Woys continues to be responsible for all operational matters of the company, including the commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business, as well as the Health Plans and Government Programs division and all company administrative functions. Mr. Woys served as acting chief financial officer of the company from November 2006 through October 2007.

Mr. Woys joined Foundation Health Corporation, a predecessor company of Health Net, in 1986. Prior to joining Health Net, Mr. Woys was a consultant at Arthur Andersen/ PriceWaterhouse.

Mr. Woys is a member of the board of directors of the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), a nonprofit alliance of health plans and trade associations with the mission of simplifying healthcare administration for health plans and providers, resulting in a better care experience for patients and caregivers. He also is a member of CAQH’s strategic planning committee.

Mr. Woys earned his MBA from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Arizona State University.
